Spring Fling Week – All this week! Today’s dress up theme is dress like a teacher day. Come watch the Musical Chairs contest today in the quad! (Alipaz)
Sadie’s Dance – Friday, March 12th from 7 to 10 pm. Tickets on sale in the student store and on the web store. The price is $8 w/ASB and $10 w/o. The theme is “Opposites Attract.” You and your date should come dressed as two opposite attires. For example: Police and robber, Soldier and Hippie, Nerd and Jock, or even Salt and Pepper. If you have a question about any attire, make sure you ask an Administrator for approval. Dress code policy will be strictly enforced. This is a guest dance. If you plan to bring a non-Branham guest, make sure you download a guest request form on the Activities web page or from the web store when you choose the Branham guest ticket. You cannot buy your ticket or your guest’s ticket until this form is completed and signed off by the deans. Deans will stop signing them on Thursday. They must be turned in that day by 2:30 in the main office. It is your responsibility to pick up approved forms from the student service center. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets. The student store is open everyday at lunch.
Blood Drive – Key Club’s semi-annual Blood Drive will be held on March 19 in the gym from 8am to 2pm. Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 with a signed parental consent form, weigh at least 110lbs, and be free of cold or flu symptoms. Sign up sheets are in the main office, room 1, and the junior and senior history classes. You can also sign up with any Key Club member. Parental consent forms are in room 1. Seniors – The yearbook baby ads must be turned in and paid for by Friday, March 12 at 2:30pm. They can be submitted electronically, purchased at the student store, or turned in with cash or check to the main office. For more information, please refer to the packets mailed home. Talent Show – Where will you be at 7 o’clock on St. Patrick’s Day? -Come on now, the Talent Show, of course!! Come see your fellow students play piano and guitar, sing, display artwork, put on a tehcno keyboard lightshow, and more! Next Wednesday, March 17, at 7pm – be there or be square! Spring Musical Auditions: Auditions for this spring's musical, Cinderella, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16th and 17th at 2:30pm in the cafeteria, with callbacks on Thursday the 18th. Tuesday will be vocal auditions, so please prepare a song to sing with sheet music - no acapella please. You must participate in both the vocal and dance auditions to be cast. Special Bell Schedule: Sophomore CAHSEE is Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16th and March 17th. We will be on a special schedule for testing. Sophomores are to report to their testing rooms at 8:00. All other students are to report at 10:50. CAHSEE testing room assignments will be posted in your English classrooms by Thursday, March 11th. Sophomore California High School Exit Exam: Sophomores are scheduled to take the CAHSEE Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16th and March 17th. Branham will be on a special bell schedule those days. Sophomores are to report to their testing rooms at 8:00am. Classes will start at 10:50am for all students – including sophomores who have completed the test. Helping Humanity Annual Charity Ball – Save this date! Saturday, March 27, the Helping Humanity Club is having its annual Charity Ball. This year it is being held at Bella Mia restaurant, downtown San Jose, from 5 to 9pm. One ticket is $30.00, two tickets are $55.00. Attention Parents: If you need to pick up your student for an appointment during the school day, we ask that you call the attendance office IN ADVANCE to arrange for an Off Grounds Pass. The attendance office phone number is 626-3407, and Press 1 for the attendance secretary. It is sometimes difficult and disruptive to classrooms to locate a student at only a moments notice.
